The Metro Council of Nashville proudly announces the formation of its historic Immigrant Caucus, a monumental step forward in representing the diverse voices and experiences of immigrants within the city. With a firm commitment to fostering inclusivity and ensuring equitable representation for all residents, the Immigrant Caucus stands as a beacon of unity, strength, and advocacy.
Led by Chair Terry Vo, District 17 Council Member, Vice Chair Zulfat Suara, At-Large Council Member, Secretary Jeff Preptit, District 25 Council Member, and Treasurer Sandra Sepulveda, District 30 Council Member, the Immigrant Caucus comprises a dynamic team of leaders deeply dedicated to championing the rights and aspirations of immigrant communities across Nashville.
"The formation of the Immigrant Caucus marks a historic moment for Nashville, signifying our city's unwavering commitment to embracing diversity and amplifying the voices of our immigrant residents," stated Chair Vo. The Immigrant Caucus is poised to address a wide array of issues affecting immigrant communities, including access to essential services, economic empowerment, language access, language assistance programs, and cultural integration initiatives. By fostering dialogue, collaboration, and meaningful engagement, the caucus aims to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment where all residents can thrive and contribute to the city's prosperity.
In line with its mission to promote transparency and accessibility, the Metro Council Immigrant Caucus invites residents to its next meeting on Wednesday, February 28 at 4:30 PM at the Metro Courthouse. The meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to meet caucus members, share their concerns, and contribute to shaping the caucus's agenda for the future.
