“The investments Metro Arts makes in the community are vital,” said Jennifer Cole, Metro Arts’ executive director. “Our partners serve a growing and diverse population and drive innovation in culture and the arts throughout Davidson County. Our investments in organizations large and small ensure that all Nashvillians have access to the arts in their lives.”
In June 2016, Metro Arts announced the approval of $2,195,200 in grants for the 2016-2017 fiscal year in four different grant categories: Basic Operating Support, Creation, After-school Arts Projects and Arts Access. A total of 60 grants were awarded to 43 different nonprofit organizations.
Over $29,000 was distributed through the Arts Build Communities program for the 2016-2017 fiscal year. These project-based awards ranged from $1,000 to $2,500 to support projects at 14 different Nashville nonprofits.
