Function: Community Corrections Advisory Board shall assess and adopt community-wide needs and advise the Metropolitan Council regarding specific program options; shall participate in the establishment of local eligibility standards for local community corrections programs which meet the local needs of the community; shall adopt program policies; shall inform and educate the general public regarding the need for diversion of selected non-violent offenders from confinement in correctional institutions in order to gain greater public support; and shall make an annual report of the progress of the programs as well as other codified duties.
