Healthy Nashville Leadership Council

The Healthy Nashville Leadership Council (HNLC) was created by former Mayor Karl Dean, Executive Order No. 25 to mobilize community initiatives to achieve improvements in health, specifically to reduce the impact of three strategic issues: obesity, tobacco use and disparities in heart disease, diabetes and cancer. The Healthy Nashville Leadership Council is supported by the Metro Public Health Department. Current work of the Council is outlined in the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).

All business of this Council follows the Healthy Nashville Leadership Council by-laws.

The HNLC normally meets the first Wednesday of every month from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. However, the HNLC has recently voted to meet every other month, due to work being done on the Nashville Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). All meetings are held at Lentz Public Health Department Board Room, 3rd floor.
