Information Technology Services (ITS) Department

Leading Technology for Metro Departments and Agencies

The scope of technology utilized by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County ranges from simple communications devices such as handheld tablets to complex database driven software applications that enable communications and interactions both internally and with the general public. ITS provides technology services to increase the speed of business and availability of information in new ways that were never before possible.

Behind the scenes, the technology used is a sophisticated network of over 7,500 PCs, 600+ physical and virtual servers and nearly 700 Police mobile PCs that span over 240 locations and use 232 miles of leased optical fiber and cabling.

Supporting this vast range of technology are teams of dedicated specialists assigned to the different technology service areas. Metro ITS is the combination of these teams, creating a cohesive, structured organization that continually strives to support Metro business in the most efficient and effective manner and to implement secure, cost-effective information technology solutions.

The ITS Mission Statement

Providing information, communication, and business solutions to the departments and agencies of the Metropolitan Government so that they can achieve their business objectives and exceed the expectations of the citizens we all serve.
