Boards and Commissions

Mayor Barry is committed to making sure the government of Nashville is representative of the population itself. In addition to having the most diverse Mayor’s Office staff in city history, Mayor Barry has emphasized the importance of appointing a diverse cross-section of Nashvillians to Boards and Commissions.

Mayor Barry has been intentional about seeking out the most qualified individuals who bring a level of expertise, perspective, and understanding about the board or commission, who also represent various groups and can offer unique perspectives when making decisions that will impact all of the residents of our city. Boards and commission members carry out important work, and are a way for dedicated citizens to show their commitment and lend their voices to the city.
