Community Support

Mayor Karl Dean's health initiatives rely heavily on partnerships with the community. The Mayor has led several large public campaigns and events, such as Walk 100 Miles with the Mayor, the Mayor's Challenge 5K and Mayor's Field Day with the Tennessee Titans, all aimed at inspiring healthier, more active lifestyles. Mayor Dean wants all Nashvillians to be able to participate in these efforts. To that end, the events are always free to participants and the costs have been largely funded by private donations and in-kind contributions. Mayor Dean established The Footprint Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to accept and manage the monetary donations.

If you are a business or agency, there are numerous opportunities to be involved in events and programs throughout the year. For further information about these opportunities, please contact either Janel Lacy or Laurel Creech.
