The Nashville Financial Empowerment Center provides free, professional financial counseling to Nashvillians citywide.
We help Davidson County residents reduce debt and build assets through free, one-on-one financial counseling incorporated into existing services offered in the city.
Since opening in March, 2013, the centers have helped over 4,700 clients and held more than 9,000 individual counseling sessions.
To date, our team has helped our clients reduce their debt by over $5 million and helped them increase their savings by over $800,000. More information can be found in the FEC 3-Year Evaluation Preliminary Findings.
The Nashville Financial Empowerment Center is a program of the Office of Mayor Megan Barry in partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. Nashville is one of five cities that have received funding through Bloomberg Philanthropies' investment in the Cities for Financial Empowerment (CFE) Fund.
“I felt like I was drowning in debt so much that I couldn't sleep at night,” Moore said. “I called and got an appointment right away. After my appointment, I felt like I could breathe again, like I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now I feel like I have a goal. I have a plan.” - Rosa Moore, FEC client
