The Metropolitan Action Commission Community Programs division provides educational opportunities and various support services to help with the basic household expenses of families with low-incomes in an effort to maintain or establish stable living conditions.
Areas of Support
Utility Assistance
Help with utility payments to local energy providers/companies and cooling units for medically eligible residents. Also this program provides free fan and air conditioners to the elderly, disabled and residents with medical conditions
Household Assistance
Assistance with mortgage and rental payments, property taxes, rental deposits and other essential household expenses
Adult Education
GED Preparation Classes and College Entry Assistance
Food Service for Children and Youth
Summer Meals for Children and Youth and meals for after school programs
