GED Orientation, Classes and Examination
Classes are provided for adults ages 18 years old or older (or 17 years old with high school waiver) in preparation for the GED exam. Graduates of the program participate in a “cap and gown” graduation ceremony acknowledging the official completion of the program.
Orientation is held every first Thursday of the month from 8:15 am until 9 am at the Metropolitan Action Commission main location (800 2nd Avenue North). Classes are also held at the Metro Action Commission's main location Monday through Thursday from 9am until 1pm. Regularly attending students are eligible to receive bus passes and weekly stipends. Students also receive class study materials. The cost of the GED exam is covered by the agency.
College Prep Course
Graduates of the program are eligible to participate in the agency’s College Prep Program, which provides college admission support, covers the cost of college application fees and a portion of book expenses.
