Notice of Public Hearings

Speaking at a Public Hearing

Members of the public may address the entire Council body only at a scheduled public hearing. Public Hearings on zoning matters are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Other public hearings for non-zoning matters may be held as part of regular Council meetings throughout the year.

Public Hearing Procedure

The Vice Mayor will open the public hearing for a particular legislative item and ask for a show of hands of those in favor and those opposed to the legislation. Citizens will have 3 minutes to speak, and must identify themselves by name and home address before addressing the Council. An individual may address the Council only once for each particular piece of legislation. Individuals are encouraged not to repeat what has been said by previous speakers.

Distribution of Written Material to the Council

If a member of the public would like to provide the Metropolitan Council members with written material regarding an issue, he/she must provide forty-one copies of the document to the Metropolitan Council Office not later than 4:30 p.m. on the day of the Council Meeting. The Council Office is located in Suite 204 on the second floor of the Historic Metropolitan Courthouse at the opposite end of the Council Chamber. The written material must be signed by the individual requesting distribution and have the name and address of the individual providing the material.

Notice of Zoning Amendment Proposals

Notice is hereby given that public hearings on the following proposed amendments to the Zoning Code or Official Zoning Map of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 6:30 pm in the Metropolitan Courthouse.

BILL NO. BL2014-901 Changing from CL to CS zoning for a portion of property at 2706 Old Lebanon Pike, at the southeast corner of Old Lebanon Pike and Toddway Court and within the Downtown Donelson Urban Design Overlay District (0.49 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-934 Changing from IR to MUL-A zoning for property at 1307 2nd Avenue North, approximately 145 feet north of Monroe Street and within the Germantown Historic Preservation Overlay District (0.23 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-935 Changing from RS5 to MUL-A zoning for a portion of property within the Dickerson Pike Urban Design Overlay District at 1404 Dickerson Pike, at the southwest corner of Dickerson Pike and Fern Avenue (3.22 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-936 Changing from R15 to SP zoning for property at 4201 Kirtland Road, at the southwest corner of Kirtland Road and Overhill Drive (0.45 acres), to permit up to four detached residential dwelling units.

BILL NO. BL2014-937 Changing from AR2a to RS10 zoning for property at 12444 Old Hickory Boulevard, approximately 1,600 feet east of Murfreesboro Pike (32.5 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-938 Changing from from IWD to SP zoning for property at 311 Madison Street, approximately 155 feet west of 3rd Avenue North and within the Phillips-Jackson Street Redevelopment District (0.03 acres), to permit a mixed-use development.

BILL NO. BL2014-939 Changing from OR20 to SP zoning for property at 1034 W. Eastland Avenue, approximately 200 feet west of Gallatin Avenue (4.66 acres), to permit a mixed-use development.

BILL NO. BL2014-940 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for properties at 245 White Bridge Pike and White Bridge Pike (unnumbered), approximately 615 feet north of Kendall Drive (1.71 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-941 Changing from AR2a to SP zoning for property at Burkitt Road (unnumbered), approximately 845 feet south of Burkitt Road (4.15 acres), to permit up to 14 single-family lots.

BILL NO. BL2014-942 Changing from ORI-A to SP zoning for properties at 814, 816, 818, 822 and 824 19th Avenue South, at the northeast corner of 19th Avenue South and Chet Atkins Place (1.02 acres), to permit a mixed-use development.

BILL NO. BL2014-943 Changing from R6 to SP zoning for a portion of property at 1234 Schrader Lane, south of Dr. Walter S. Davis Boulevard, to permit an electronic sign (0.29 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-944 Changing from SP to MUL-A zoning for property at 1170 Dickerson Pike, approximately 1,750 feet north of W. Campbell Road (3.23 acres).

BILL NO. BL2014-945 Amending Bright Pointe Specific Plan District for properties at 3781, 3791, 3799 and 3803 Pin Hook Road and at Pin Hook Road (unnumbered), approximately 2,430 feet west of LaVergne Couchville Pike (19.29 acres), to permit up to 81 single family dwelling units where 42 multifamily dwelling units and 57 single-family lots were previously approved.

BILL NO. BL2014-946 Changing from MUI-A to SP zoning for properties at 106 and 108 19th Avenue South and 1810, 1812 and 1814 Broadway, at the northeast corner of 19th Avenue South and Broadway (1.33 acres), to permit a mixed-use development.

BILL NO. BL2014-947 Amending Title 13, Title 15 and Title 17 to clarify procedures related to fees, in-lieu contributions and other assessments, estimates or payments.
