Meet Our Staff

Lovette CurryExecutive Director – Lovette Curry, Esq.

Lovette Curry, a Nashville native, earned a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, DC and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in Los Angeles, CA. While working in education reform, government and law, Lovette honed her skills in policy development and implementation as well as community relations and program management. ED LinkedIn

Philip StoeckleinProgram Coordinator – Philip Stoecklein

Philip Stoecklein brings vast experience in government, community relations, public affairs and manufacturing. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s in Public Administration from Tennessee State University. In his role as the Program Coordinator, Philip is responsible for managing current and new classes, instructor recruitment, and scheduling. PC LinkedIn

Lauren ZimmermanCommunications Coordinator—Lauren Zimmerman

Lauren Zimmerman is a native of Middle Tennessee and a recent graduate of Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics. After graduating in 2011, Lauren served a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Community Education. After her year of service, Lauren joined the department officially as the Communications Coordinator, responsible for managing the website, all external communications, social media, and department data collection and analysis. Laura RongionaAmeriCorps VISTA – Laura Rongione

A native of South Florida, Laura moved to the Nashville area 3 years ago to begin a graduate program at Middle Tennessee State University in Clinical Psychology. Before working as an AmeriCorps VISTA, Laura graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a degree in Psychology. At NCE she is in charge of developing the department volunteer cohort and handles daily program activities at the Cohn School site.

Margie JohnsonAntioch Site Coordinator – Margie W. Johnson

Margie’s extensive knowledge of Nashville’s social services and area businesses provides a strong foundation for the growth of the satellite site at Antioch High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Tennessee State University. Margie is currently pursuing a Master’s of Education in Curriculum & Instruction at Tennessee State University.
