At Work

NashVitality is the spirit of our city where all Nashville residents have access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity in the places they live, learn, work, worship and play.

Where we work can have a profound impact on our health and quality of life. Environments that support healthy eating and active living can help create the culture of wellness needed for communities to thrive.

Written policy directives that promote healthy eating and active living in workplaces and faith organizations can have numerous benefits, including a healthier workforce and congregation; increased morale and participation; higher employee productivity and reduced absenteeism.

Through the Healthy and Active Places of Work and Worship initiatives, Metro Public Health is working directly with top employers and faith organizations to institute policies that promote physical activity, access to healthy foods, lactation support and tobacco free environments.
