1/29/2013

January 29, 2013

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Arrest warrants charging criminal homicide and attempted criminal homicide have been issued against Christopher Shipp, 20, for Friday night’s fatal shooting of Dwight Eddie Bond, 31, that also injured Bond’s girlfriend, Wendy Goodrich, inside the couple’s Booker Street apartment.
Officers responded to shots fired at the residence at 10:40 p.m.  The preliminary investigation indicates that Shipp and another man entered the apartment demanding money.  Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were recovered from the apartment.
Goodrich was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was treated and released.  Bond was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shipp is currently free on $55,500 bond for felony cocaine, marijuana and weapon possession charges placed against him in December after undercover detectives conducted a narcotics related search warrant at 623 21st Avenue North.
Anyone seeing Shipp or knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.    Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com. Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone, text or Internet can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
