South Precinct officers Sunday arrested shooting suspect Noel Hernandez-Vasquez, 18, and charged him with shooting another teen Friday night in the parking lot of 200 Paragon Mills Road, the apartment complex where Hernandez-Vasquez lives.
The victim, Gustavo Valencia-Gonzalez, 18, of Cimarron Way, was walking through the apartment complex at 9:30 p.m. Friday when Hernandez-Vasquez, an acquaintance, allegedly exited a black SUV armed with a handgun and told the victim, “I heard you’re looking for me,” before he fired at him, striking Valencia-Gonzalez in the arm, leg and foot. Valencia-Gonzalez was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Hernandez-Vasquez is charged with aggravated assault and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
