"Spirit of Nashville" Honors Cumberland Park

Nashville,TN --- Metro Parks has a limited number of prints available from the Anderson Design Group’s, Spirit of Nashville series.  The department commissioned Anderson to produce the series to help bring attention to some of the most popular parks in the city.

This month’s print features Cumberland Park.  Opened to the public in 2012, Cumberland Park establishes a new identity for Nashville’s downtown Cumberland River frontage.

The 6.5 acre park is located on downtown’s East Bank, directly across from the central business district and between the historic Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge and the Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge.  Cumberland Park is geared towards families and children and provides interactive play spaces and landscapes that encourage activity.

The landscape of the park offers play features including a spray ground, climbing walls, rolling hills and sand play. Outdoor gathering areas, meandering garden pathways and an outdoor amphitheater make the park a great destination for performances and people watching.  Viewing platforms and overlooks adapted from historic structures offer spectacular new views of the Nashville skyline.

The Cumberland Park print can be purchased for $24.99 each during the month of June ($10 less than on the Anderson Design website) from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., at the Metro Parks Reservation Center, 2565 Park Plaza, Nashville, TN 37203.  Supplies are limited.

A 2013 Spirit of Nashville Wall Calendar, with all 13 Metro Parks prints, is available for purchase on Anderson Design’s website at
