Man Fatally Shot During Robbery at North Nashville Market

The man fatally shot Sunday evening during a robbery at Church & Son Market at 2139 15th Avenue North is identified as Darrell Lyndell Wright, 50.
Wright, of Santi Avenue, was visiting his friend and owner of the market, Augustus Church, 55, when two men, one armed with a gun and the other a knife, entered the store just before 6 p.m. According to witnesses, the gunman fired as he entered the business, striking Wright. He died on the scene. The robbers fled on foot reportedly with less than ten dollars in cash.
Police are asking the community for their assistance in identifying the two men responsible for Wright’s murder. They are described as black men in their late teens or early 20s.
