28 New Police Officers Graduate from the MNPD Training Academy

September 27, 2013

Twenty-eight new Metro police officers graduated from 5 ½ months of rigorous physical and classroom training on Thursday evening, September 26th, during a ceremony at Hermitage Hills Baptist Church.  Mayor Karl Dean administered the oath of service to the new officers before joining Chief Steve Anderson in presenting each with their badge.
The 28 graduates will spend the next 5 to 6 months rotating among the seven precincts with Field Training Officers before patrolling Nashville’s neighborhoods on their own.
