FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Quick police response led to last night’s apprehension of four teens involved in an attempted home invasion robbery in the 200 block of Old Trinity Lane.
Nickhales Franklin, 18, and Thaddous Baskette, 19, admitted that they put on masks and entered the home where they attempted to rob a man and woman. Two accomplices, ages 17 and 13, were also identified as participating in the break-in. After the male victim was punched by one of the suspects, the female victim ran from the home. The suspects then fled in a Ford Explorer with a broken window.
East Precinct officers later spotted the getaway vehicle parked on Duke Street. The four suspects were taken into custody a short time later. Franklin and Baskette are each charged with two counts of attempted aggravated robbery. Franklin remains jailed on $60,000 bond. Baskette remains jailed in lieu of $80,000 bond. The other two teens are each charged in Juvenile Court with two counts of attempted aggravated robbery.
