Pedestrian Fatally Injured Saturday Night During Heavy Storm

December 22, 2013

A 59-year-old Hermitage man died Saturday night after being hit by a pickup truck as he attempted to cross Andrew Jackson Parkway near Lebanon Pike in heavy rain.
Efforts are continuing to locate and notify the pedestrian’s next of kin.
The preliminary investigation shows that a 1988 Dodge Ram being driven by James Dean Wolfe, 30, of Murfreesboro, was traveling south on Andrew Jackson Parkway at 9:30 p.m. when it struck the pedestrian.  Wolfe told officers that he did not see the man in the heavy rain.  The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
There was no indication of alcohol or drug involvement.  The investigation is continuing.
