WHO:
The Metro Public Health Department along with community partners United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, and Tennessee State University, will host this year’s Incredible Baby Shower, a free event to assist new parents or soon to be parents with important information for having a healthy pregnancy, and raising a happy and healthy child.

WHAT:
The Shower will feature classes, demonstrations and resources, allowing parents to make informed decisions for a healthy baby and creating a healthy family.  More than 300 new moms, dads and parents to be are expected to participate.

The Health Department began the Shower 21 years ago.  The Shower is a free event and will feature more than 40+ booths offering everything from infant safety, breastfeeding basics, parenting skills, tips on how to stop smoking, and nutrition, just to name a few.

Just like a real baby shower, there will be gifts and door prizes!

WHEN:
Thursday April 3, 1 p.m - 4 p.m.

WHERE:
TSU Main Campus Gentry Center (28th Avenue North to Ed Temple Blvd to Walter Davis Blvd )

WHY:
The shower is designed to assist new parents or soon to be parents with important information needed for having and raising a happy and healthy child.  The Health Department is seeking to lower Nashville’s infant mortality rate, where African American infants are over twice as likely to die before their first birthday than white infants.
