Metro to Celebrate Arbor Day on Thursday, March 10

Who: Mayor Megan Barry, Metro Public Works, Metro Beautification and Environment Commission, Metro Parks, Metro Tree Advisory Committee, Nashville Tree Foundation, Nashville Electric Service, Tennessee Department of Agriculture-Forestry Division

What: Metro’s Annual Celebration of National Arbor Day

When: Thursday, March 10, 11 a.m.

Where: Centennial Park event shelter by the Sunken Gardens

Other: Nashville’s annual Arbor Day Celebration will include several recognition awards, student essays and tree dedications promoting the importance of trees to our community. The Arbor Day Foundation recognition program includes Tree City USA, Tree Line USA and Tree Campus USA. Following the ceremony, seedlings provided by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry will be distributed to those in attendance.
