South Precinct Detectives Working to Identify Suspect in Fatal Shooting on Flora Maxwell Road

South Precinct detectives are continuing in their efforts to identify the person who fired on two men at midnight as they sat in an SUV outside a home on Flora Maxwell Road.      

Leondra T. Ridley, 37, was fatally wounded.  His 33-year-old friend was also hit and is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.      

The surviving victim, who was able to briefly speak with officers, said that he and Ridley were sitting in a Buick Enclave outside Ridley’s home when they were hit by gunfire.  He said Ridley got out of the vehicle after being hit.  The other victim drove himself to Southern Hills Medical Center and was subsequently transferred to Vanderbilt where he underwent surgery.  Detectives are optimistic the surviving victim will be able to provide additional information about what happened as his medical condition improves.
