Man Facing Vehicular Homicide Indictment for Crashing into a Cab Last October

Dallas Wayne Hendrix today surrendered on a vehicular homicide indictment in connection with a crash last October 11th on 2nd Avenue South at Peabody Street that killed a Nashville cab driver.
In addition to vehicular homicide by recklessness, Hendrix, 30, of Church Street, is also charged with reckless endangerment by a motor vehicle and aggravated assault.
The investigation by the MNPD’s fatal crash team showed that Hendrix was driving a Ford Econoline van north on 2nd Avenue when it hit a NashVegas cab that was stopped for a red light. The driver of the cab, Hizkias Woldegabriel, 55, died at the scene. A passenger in the cab, Joshua Deringer, 43, of Pennsylvania, was injured, as were Hendrix and his passenger.
Hendrix was released from jail after posting a $75,000 bond.
