Director Chief William Swann is challenging all members of the media to participate in Hero’s Challenge

Nashville, TN (April 2, 2018) – The Nashville Fire Department is teaming up with the  IAFF Local 140 to host the Hero’s Challenge, May 5, 2018.

This fundraising event will allow individuals to test their strength by taking on tasks from our fire fighter agility test.

Director Chief William Swann is challenging each media outlet in Middle Tennessee to enter a team for the fire truck pull. Teams of 10 people will compete against each other in timed trials to pull a full-sized fire truck 50 feet. The team to cross the line fastest wins.

“We have a very competitive news market here in Nashville,” Director Chief Swann said. “I am challenging the news organizations here to show who is really the toughest, strongest and best when it comes to teamwork. Sign up your team for the Hero’s Challenge.”

Proceeds from this event will benefit Operation Warm. Operation Warm raises money throughout the year with the goal of providing new winter coats to an entire MNPS elementary school.
