Next Week’s Arrival of NFL Pre-Season Football Means Commuters Should Plan Ahead to Avoid PM Rush Hour Delays

August 17, 2012

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro drivers are advised to consider alternate routes out of downtown the next two consecutive Thursday nights when the Tennessee Titans are scheduled to play preseason home games at LP Field.

On Thursday, August 23, the Titans play the Arizona Cardinals beginning at 7 p.m. The following week on Thursday, August 30, the New Orleans Saints come to town, and kick off is at 6 p.m.

Metro will implement the usual game day traffic management plan for both games. Because of the early evening kick off times, street closings will take effect before the weekday afternoon rush hour and drivers should plan accordingly. Pre-game street closings begin three hours before kick-off and remain in effect until approximately 1½ hours after games end. A complete list of all street closings for Titans football is available at www.nashville.gov/public-works.

Click on “Road Closures” under Quick Links, then look for the Titans Game/LP Field Street Closings page link. For more information, call (615) 862-8750.
