Mayor to Visit Newly Reopened Ryman Alley on Thursday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mayor Karl Dean will visit the newly reopened Historic Ryman Alley at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 12. A new red concrete surface is part of a series of upgrades to the famed Alley that has served as a link between the backstage of the Ryman Auditorium and the honkytonks of Lower Broadway.

Infrastructure improvements include new fire hydrants and stormwater lines, electrical upgrades, a redesigned drainage system and new flapper valves on sewer/storm drains to help with odor control.

The Downtown Partnership will be hosting a lunch celebration in Ryman Alley for area merchants and featuring live music from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday. Mayor Dean will offer brief remarks and hold a media availability.
