Bridge Repairs Planned For Cleveland Street Overpass
April 1, 2011
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Motorists will soon encounter temporary lane closures on the Cleveland Street bridge over Ellington Parkway due to deck repairs scheduled to begin the week of April 11th.
Simultaneous repair projects will be conducted – one on the bridge over CSX Railroad and funded by Metro Public Works and the other over Ellington Parkway, funded by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The bridge deck, or driving surface, of both structures have deteriorated and will be repaired and replaced. On average, between 8,000 and 10,000 vehicles travel the overpass each day.
At least one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open while the repairs are underway. The work is expected to be completed in approximately 7 months. Total cost of the projects is approximately $1.5 million.
