About Jean Crowe

Jean CroweThe Advocacy Center was named after Jean Crowe, who helped start the Nashville Coalition Against Domestic Violence and spent much of her career as an attorney representing low-income domestic violence victims, including her time at Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands.

Jean Crowe was one of the people who asked former Mayor Karl Dean to undertake a safety and accountability assessment of the Metro departments involved in responding to domestic violence in Nashville.

The creation of the Advocacy Center and the services it provides are a direct result of the recommendations in the assessment report.
