Neighborhood Recreation Centers

Metro Parks operates 16 Neighborhood Recreation Centers throughout the city. Each of these facilities feature a gymnasium, game room, multi-purpose rooms, playground and gathering area. Many feature fitness rooms and outdoor walking tracks, while some have swimming pools that operate on a seasonal basis.

Neighborhood centers are community-based and offer programs and activities for the surrounding communities throughout the year. These facilities provide a wide range of programs and services to all members of the community. Programs and activities include competetive adult and youth sports, arts and crafts, fitness opportunities, walking clubs, scouting programs, organized games, social events, and many more.

A year-round priority for the centers is programming for school-aged children. During the school year, the primary focus of neighborhood centers is after-school programming. While during the summer, the focus shifts to our youth enrichment day program.

Programs for senior citizens are offered at most neighborhood recreation center locations. Program operating hours vary by location, based on the needs of the local community. However, each center offers after-school programming for school aged children and evening programs for older teens and adults.
