Dragon Park

Dragon Sculpture Restoration

The dragon sculpture at Fannie Mae Dees is in need of repair. There is extensive cracking along the belly and the tile work is damaged.

The Parks Department and the Hillsboro West End Neighborhood Association are working on a repair plan along with a local engineering team and an art conservator. Additional planning and fundraising need to take place to before the physical restoration begins.

Due to the Dragon’s condition, it has become necessary to keep folks off the sculpture and a fence will insure a safe working environment for the restoration team.

Please contact the neighborhood association for more details on fundraising efforts, volunteering and other ways to get involved.

Master plan

The Fannie Mae Dees (Dragon) Park Master Plan was completed in 2012. With the planting of street trees along Blakemore and 24th Aves, the recent instillation of a new doggie water fountain (people can use it too) and the on going cleanup of existing landscaping, the master plan implementation is well on its way.
