Joelton Community Plan
Process to create Urban Design Overlay begins; community meetings scheduled in January
A steering committee made up of Metro planners, community members, and Metro Councilman Nick Leonardo met December 11 to discuss a possible Urban Design Overlay which could set additional development and design standards for part of the Joelton community, tentatively along Whites Creek Pike south of Interstate 24.
That conversation will continue January 29 - February 1 with an on-site, public accessible planning discussion, or "charrette," at Joelton First Baptist Church, 7140 Whites Creek Pike.

About the Plan
The Joelton Community Plan was most recently updated in August 2017, as part of a scheduled review of the NashvilleNext long-range plan.
All of the Planning Department's fourteen Community Plans are guided by the Community Character Manual, a document which provides detailed policy guidance based on the look and feel of neighborhoods, centers, corridors and open spaces.
The Joelton Community Plan has no Detailed Neighborhood Design Plans and no Urban Design Overlays.
