How Can the Planning Department Help You?

The Planning Department provides design guidance, reviews zoning and subdivision applications, and shapes public policy related to growth and development. We are committed to proactive, community-based planning founded on public participation, and to the building of livable, sustainable communities. Our mission statementsexterior photo of our building

Our Community Design division updates and amends community, neighborhood, transportation, and corridor plans throughout Davidson County, develops transportation priorities, and provides advice on the creation of livable, appropriate development based on each community's needs and goals.

Our Land Development division processes and reviews subdivisions, zone changes, and other applications related to the zoning code and advises the community on the application and approval process.
