Improvements to Community Plan amendment process

Applicants for a Community Plan Amendment now must obtain a Plan Amendment Level and Study Area Determination Letter from the Planning Department prior to submitting an application. This will determine if the application is a Minor or Major Amendment Application and what the required amendment study area will be.

These changes make the process more efficient and easier to follow – please see the links below for details, as the Community Plan Amendment Application Form has also changed.

Payment by cash or check is required at the time of application submittal. Checks should be made payable to "Metropolitan Government."

Updated fee structure is now in effect

The Metropolitan Council approved a new fee schedule for various applications on June 21, 2016, which took effect on July 1. The updated fees balance the complexity of each case and the fees charged for its review.
