Mayor Dean Joins Fisk, Meharry Presidents To Re-Dedicate Historic Jubilee Bridge
Ceremony on Monday, October 6 kicks off “Jubilee Day” events
Members of the JUMP organization and representatives from Fisk and Meharry worked closely with Metro to form the Jubilee Bridge Beautification Committee to revitalize the historic Jubilee Bridge, which serves as a gateway to both college campuses as well as surrounding residential and commercial neighborhoods. Metro Beautification & Environment, Metro Parks & Recreation, and Public Works combined resources to pressure wash and clean the bridge deck and railings, provide new landscaping and erect new streetscape signage. The ceremony was held at the north end of the bridge next to the new decorative Jubilee Bridge sign.
