Mayor Megan Barry signs Executive Order #031 implementing Nashville’s “Green and Complete Streets” Policy

Metro Government has reaffirmed and expanded its complete streets strategy to strengthen the inclusion of green-street infrastructure elements to help ensure Nashville’s infrastructure policy, design, and practice will enhance environmental quality by reducing pollutants, temperature, and runoff impacts to local bodies of water. This policy also expands Nashville’s commitment to encouraging a safe, reliable, efficient, connected and ascetically pleasing system of streets that balances the accommodation of all users of the transportation system.

Chapter 6.5.2 of the Strategic Plan for Sidewalks and Bikeways adopts Complete Streets principals as one of the design theories to be used on future public projects. (Updates underway)

Chapters 1.1 and 3.5 of the Public Works Subdivision Street Design Standards and Specifications adopts Complete Streets principles. (Updates underway)
