REQUESTING BARCODES
AND EMPTY BOXES


Barcodes

Every container transferred to Metro Records Management must have a barcode attached. Barcodes are supplied as needed.

1. Contact Metro Records Management at 862-5885 or send an email to records.center@nashville.gov.

2. State your name, department and division.

3. State how many barcodes you need.

4. State if you would like them to be sent Metro Mail or you would like to come by and pick them up. Delivery through Metro Mail should take about 2 days.

Note: It is fine to use barcodes that have been issued earlier. They are unique numbers that have been assigned to your department/division.

 

Empty Boxes

All records transferred to Metro Records Management must be placed in standard records storage boxes. These boxes are supplied as needed at no cost to the department.

1. Contact the Metro Records Management at 862-5885 or send an email to records.center@nashville.gov.

2. State your name, department and division.

3. State how many boxes you need. Order only as many as you can secure and store in a dry place.

4. State if you would like to come by and pick them up or have them delivered. In most cases, deliveries will be made within 5 days.

Note: boxes should be used only for transferring records to Metro Records Management.
