Essentials of Records Management (460)
The Division of Records Management offers a three-hour course, open to all employees of Metropolitan Government, on the fundamental concepts of records management in Metro government.
Course
Content:
· Understand the purpose of records management
· Understand concepts, such as records series
and records schedules, that are fundamental to managing Metro government
records
· Understand the role of Records Officers, the
Public Records Commission, the Records Management Division, the Metro Records
Center, and the Metro Archives in managing Metro government
records
· Learn how to identify and handle public records in the context
of Metro government
· Learn how to use records schedules to determine when records may
or may not be destroyed
