Records Storage and Destruction (464)
The Division of Records Management offers a three-hour course on options, processes, and procedures for records storage and records destruction. This course provides the methods for determining when records should be retained on-site, when they should be stored, and when they can be destroyed. It also covers the options available for records storage and destruction in Metro government, as well as related procedures.
Course Content:

Understand Metro’s options for records storage and destruction
· Learn how to identify appropriate records for storage or destruction
· Learn to use the processes and procedures for transferring records to,
and requesting records from, the Metro Records Center
· Learn how to identify confidential records, which must destroyed only
through approved means
· Learn to use the process and procedures for securely destroying confidential
records
· Learn how to complete all applicable forms
