How do I obtain a Door to Door Sales Permit / Solicitation Permit
Step 1 Come to the Police Department for these particular permits, we perform the background check and fingerprinting. Afterwards, the solicitor will apply for the permit with the Metro Clerk's Office.
Solicitation Permit Application Form - Please fill out the application and bring the required items to the MNPD Police Records Counter.
Solicitations - Items Required
- A letter from the company that the applicant will be selling for
- A copy of the contract used in obtaining orders or making sales.
- A Statement of Facts to the financial responsibility of the principal (a Surety Bond for at least $5,000.00).
- 3 recent photographs (approximately 2 inches by 2 inches).
- A driver license or other state issued ID (with photo).
- A list of what merchandise they are selling and a price list for said merchandise.
- If a vehicle is involved for the purpose of solicitation, a description of vehicle and registration information is required.
All of this information must be provided, or the application will not be completed. There are no exceptions.
Step 2 Go to Metro Clerk’s Office.
