Adopt A Meter

Sponsorships Unlock Doors

Mayor Karl Dean tasked the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission in 2010 to implement the Adopt A Meter program, which he first encountered on a leadership trip to Denver, CO. Currently Nashville has 26 blue donation meters posted in high-foot-traffic areas in Downtown. The Adopt A Meter program offers one-year sponsorships for $1,000 per meter. For more information on the sponsorships, contact Judith Tackett at judith.tackett@nashville.gov.

We are in the process of re-branding the meters with the How's Nashville logo. Proceeds from sponsorships and donations will go toward move-in costs of people housed through the How's Nashville initiative. A $1,000 donation will cover rent and utility deposits, basic furniture, and household goods.
