Control Flooding (Protecting Life and Property)

The stormwater division will work to control flooding by installing, cleaning & maintaining infrastructure such as curbs, gutters, inlets, pipes, ditches, culverts, detention ponds & more. An additional 15 staff will be added to maintenance crews.

Regulate Development (Enforcing Rules and Regulations)

Stormwater staff will regulate development by setting design standards, providing technical guidance, reviewing plans for development, inspecting construction sites and enforcing regulations. Three additional staff will be added to design review.

Prevent Pollution (Enhancing Water Quality)

Metro stormwater will enhance water quality by educating the public, implementing clean water programs, inspecting & monitoring runoff & enforcing Clean Water Act standards. An additional four staff will be added to the NPDES section.
