CENTRAL BIOSOLIDS DESIGN/ BUILD TEAM
Archer Western Contractors is a general contracting, construction management and design-build firm specializing in water and wastewater treatment plants, among other areas. Archer Western is serving as lead contractor for the Central biosolids project.
EarthTech, works with public agencies, private utilities and industrial clients to deliver high quality, cost-effective wastewater treatment solutions. Biosolids management and odor control are among the core wastewater services they provide. EarthTech is the lead engineer for the Central biosolids project.
Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon (BWSC) specializes in wastewater and utility design, and as local architect/engineer for the Central biosolids project, is well-versed in local design practices and procedures to the biosolids project. Based in Nashville, BWSC also brings to the endeavor a keen understanding of the natural environment, historic neighborhood vision, and effectively integrating new development with existing community.
Tighe & Bond serves the design/build team as consultant specializing in heat drying facilities. Having designed the two largest wastewater residuals drying facilities in the world, Tighe & Bond will be particularly valuable as consultant on the heat-drying process in Metro Water’s new biosolids treatment facility.
CENTRAL ODOR CONTROL
Haren Construction is the general contractor for the odor control improvements at the Central Wastewater Treatment Plant. The company has extensive experience in medium size utility and treatment plant projects.
DRY CREEK BIOSOLIDS AND ODOR CONTROL
Brasfield & Gorrie serves as general contractor for the biosolids and odor control improvements at Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The company’s experience includes construction management for new, state-of-the-art water and wastewater filtration facilities. They also have managed complex construction upgrades and expansions to existing treatment facilities.
OWNER'S CONSULTING TEAM
Black & Veatch brings nationally recognized leaders in biosolids management planning and design and design/build implementation. The company recently completed projects in Louisville and Jacksonville that include thickening, anaerobic digestion, dewatering and thermal drying. These projects have significantly reduced odors and operating costs for the respective utilities. Black & Veatch will serve as the prime consultant and provide overall project management as well as lead implementation.
Brown and Caldwell brings additional experience and expertise in the area of biosolids treatment and a local knowledge of Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The coupling of Black & Veatch and Brown and Caldwell for this project brings MWS the combined strengths of two of the most highly regarded environmental engineering firms in the nation.
Jordan, Jones and Goulding developed the Comprehensive Odor Control Study for the Central and Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Plants. JJ&G will provide design and construction oversight for the odor control portions of the project.
Katcher Vaughn & Bailey is managing the public information and education required to effectively communicate with all affected audiences throughout the project.
