Pay The Fine And Cost.

You have the option to pay the fine and cost due on all violations of a Metropolitan Ordinance, with the exception of a citation written for a vicious dog, on or before your scheduled court date. If, however, you have been written a citation for a vicious dog, you must appear in court.

With the exception of an excessive alarm violation, the fine and cost for any Metro Misdemeanor violation of any Metro Ordinance is the same.

You may pay your fees in one of the following ways:

Bring your payment to the Traffic Violation Bureau;

Send your payment to our mailing address;

Pay online by visiting our online payment page.

Here’s What To Do To Pay Your Citation by Mail:

Mail the following to the Traffic Violation Bureau at our mailing address so that they are RECEIVED on or before the court date on the bottom of your citation.

A copy of your citation;

A check, money order or cashier’s check payable to the Traffic Violation Bureau in the amount shown in the table above for your violation.

Nullifiable Violations

If you have been cited for a nullifiable violation and can provide proof that it has been corrected, you may pay a $12.00 nullification fee and $42.00 administrative fee instead of the fine and cost for that violation.

These violations are nullifiable and must be paid in person or by mail:

Here’s What To Do To Pay A Nullifiable Violation By Mail:

Send the following items to the Traffic Violation Bureau at our mailing address so they are RECEIVED on or before the court date on the bottom of your citation:

A copy of your citation;

Proof that the violation has been corrected;

A check, money order or cashier’s check in the amount of $54.00 made payable to the Traffic Violation Bureau.

Here’s What To Do To Pay Your Citation Online:

You will need a credit/debit card, your citation number, the amount you owe and the personal identifying information that is requested on the payment page.

Ensure that payment is made on or before the scheduled court date.
