I Only Got A Seat Belt Ticket.Tracy was on her way to her daughter’s ball game on January 5, 2006. As she sat at a traffic light, a police officer pulled up along side her car and noticed that she wasn’t wearing her seat belt. She was ticketed for the violation. This wasn’t the first time - Tracy had another seat belt ticket back in 2003. She learned back then that this would be counted as a second offense even though her previous seat belt ticket was over twelve months ago. During half-time, Tracy began to read the instructions on her traffic ticket and learned that she had until Tuesday, February 21st, to take care of her ticket since her “compliance” date fell on a Sunday and the following Monday was a holiday. But what really put a smile on her face was finding out that since her only infraction was not wearing a seat belt, she wouldn’t have to pay the usual administrative fee.
