BAO Partners in Progress Event at Temple Church
The Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance holds its first “Partners In Progress” Networking event on Tuesday February 24, 2009 at the Temple Church in Bordeaux This hugely successful event brought small, and Minority / Women Owned Businesses together with large prime contractors with whom they might partner. Approximately 170 people attended the event with 27 large prime contracting companies in attendance. 94 individual small and minority / women owned businesses were represented and on average, each large prime contractor made a business connect with 25 firms.
The purpose of the event was to support the City’s efforts to increase the participation of small and minority / women owned businesses in Metro’s procurement process. The Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance sponsored this event to provide access to the small and minority / women owned businesses who can help larger prime contractors participate more effectively in Metro’s Small Business and Procurement Non-discrimination Programs.
