Bruce Sanschargrin named Operations Administrative Manager
On February 26, Training Manager Bruce Sanschargrin was appointed the Operations Administrative Manager for the ECC. This position will be the liaison manager between the Operational/shift managers (and Fire Liaison supervisor) and the Assistant Director of Operations, as well as assist in overseeing the entire operations of the ECC. HR/Finance Manager Lisa Fulton will assume responsibilities of the training manager.
ECC Dispatchers Brian Crabtree and Jackie Vincent Receive State EMS Star of Life Award
On May 12, 2009, the Tennessee Emergency Medical Service for Children Foundation presented the State EMS Star of Life Award to the Nashville Fire Department and Goodlettsville Fire Department for their exemplary service and care of Erik Jackson. Erik fell into a small well of water after slipping away from his daycare class and was not expected to survive. Brian and Jackie served as the call taker and fire dispatcher for this call. Brian provided critical CPR instructions to daycare employees on the scene once Erik was pulled from the well and Jackie relayed up to the minute information to EMS crews on the way to the scene. After a stay in a children's rehabilitation hospital, Erik is alive and well. Congratulations to Brian and Jackie for a job well done!
