We
are pleased to present this year, for the first time, our web-based
"Citizens' Guide to the Budget" for the Metropolitan Government
of Nashville and Davidson County. Through this web site, you now have
an unprecedented level of access to the Mayor's Recommended Budget
for 2002-2003. This budget advances the three-year plan strongly endorsed
by the Mayor and the members of the Metro Council in last year's budget
and does so with no new taxes, keeping Metro Nashville the lowest-taxed
major city in Tennessee.
Features
of the website include:
Overviews
of priority recommendations for the 2002-2003 budget.
Updates
on progress to advance Metro's four priority areas of public education,
public safety, quality of life and valuing our employees.
Rapid,
easy access to department-level information on activities, performance,
and finances.
Information
on how your tax dollars are hard at work in your community.
We
hope that you find this site, and the information it contains, to
be helpful to you in your efforts to understand the work of your Metro
Government. If you have any questions or suggestions please do not
hesitate to contact OMB@nashville.gov.
