Full Funding for Schools

Highlights & Results

Metro Board of Education has:

  • developed and approved a system-wide strategic plan for 2002-2007;

  • reconstructed its operational fund budget process to focus on Nashville's students;

  • begun instructional improvements and standards-based reform in its schools; and

  • continue to implement the facility improvements authorized by the School Improvement Plan and the capital funding provided during the last two years.

Plans for Next Year

  • Increase student achievement by a minimum of 10% in Reading, Writing, and Math.

  • Focus efforts on having an incredible start of the 2002-2003 school year.

  • Develop and complete a facility master plan for the entire school system.

  • Continue to assess and implement the performance audit recommendations.

  • Implement technology improvements within the school system.
