Note: Beginning July 1, 1992 this schedule includes the earnings of the Electric Power Board, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, and the Nashville Thermal Transfer Corporation.
 
Beginning July 1, 1993 the Electric Power Board, the Metropolitan Transit Authority, the Nashville Thermal Transfer Corporation, and the WPLN Educational Foundation are reported as component units.
 
Beginning July 1, 1993 the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, the Nashville Public Television Council, Incorporated, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, and the Emergency Communications District were included as component units of the Metropolitan Government.
 
During the 1999 fiscal year, General Hospital and Bordeaux Hospital were transferred to the Hospital Authority. The Hospital Authority is reported as a component unit.
